February 24: Just To Prove I'm Right

This past weekend, while gallivanting around town (and the local Ikea) my wife and I entered into some friendly banter on various topics - 3 in fact - that eventually ended up as minor debates. Still friendly, though, always gotta keep 'em friendly. Here were the topics:

1. The age of actor Vince Vaughn. We had recently rented "Four Christmases" via Netflix and planned on watching it that evening.
2. Whether or not singer/songwriter Chris Daughtry, of the band Daughtry, was still married to the woman who was his wife back in 2006 when he appeared as a contestant on American Idol.
3. The mortality of the legendary Issac Hayes, whose voice is best known for the theme from "Shaft" and as Chef on "South Park".

So, this evening, after wrapping some loose ends for work, I decided to enlighten myself with the answers to these questions. I figured in the process I could ease my burning curiosity, gain some useless knowledge, and, most of all, PROVE I'M RIGHT! So, without further adieu, here are the results:

1. Vince Vaughn - younger or older?
   Moe said "around 32". Scott said "in his 40s".
   The answer: He will be 40 on March 28

2. Daughtry - still married or divorced?
   Moe said "divorced". Scott said "still married".
   The answer: He has in fact been married to the same woman since November 11, 2000.

3. Isaac Hayes - alive or deceased?
   Moe said "deceased". Scott said "alive".
   The answer: Isaac Hayes passed away on August 10, 2008 at the age of 65.

Okay, so it wasn't the clean sweep my celebrity gossip ego had hoped to attain, but in the words of Meatloaf, "two out of three ain't bad".
